About the game

Start small enough to fit a traffic cone. Slide your hole around the city and anything smaller than you tips over the edge and drops in: people, bins and benches first, then cars and buses, then houses, shops and whole towers. Every gulp makes you bigger, and every new size opens up a bigger class of thing to eat. Three rival holes are doing the same, and a bigger hole will swallow a smaller one, you included.

Swallow things quickly, less than a second apart, to build a chain. Ten in a row sets off a Feeding Frenzy: for four seconds you're a size bigger, double points, and nearby props get pulled in on their own. Grow big enough and the landmark in the middle of town is yours. When the clock runs out, first place pays out a x1.5 bonus. Spend your coins on new hole skins, work through the mission board, and play the Daily City: the same city for everyone today, with a day streak. This is an early access build: growth, bots and scoring will be tuned from real rounds.

Features

  • Two-minute rounds against three rival holes, with a x1.5 bonus for first place
  • Props tip over the rim and sink in, from cones and people up to tower blocks
  • Feeding Frenzy: ten swallows in a row makes you bigger and pulls props in for four seconds
  • A landmark in every city (clock tower, ferris wheel or stadium) to eat at full size
  • Daily City with a date-seeded city and a day streak, plus a five-day Daily Supply
  • Eight code-drawn hole skins to buy with coins, and a mission board that ranks you up

How it’s built

  • Pure HTML5 Canvas and vanilla JavaScript: no engine, no build step.
  • The city is a seeded grid of blocks, each filled from a recipe (downtown, homes, parks, markets, parking), with traffic and walkers on loops.
  • The 3/4 view is faked: the ground is drawn flat and heights are pushed up the screen, and props are pre-rendered sprites that darken and clip behind the near rim as they sink.
  • The rival holes run a small state machine that flees, chases or feeds, and pacing was tuned with an autopilot that plays whole rounds.
  • Every sound is synthesized in the browser at runtime, the same way as the other Labs games.
