About the game
You start with a small patch of land in your color. Step off it and you leave a trail; steer back onto your land and the trail, plus everything it closes in, becomes yours, even land a rival owned. Cross a rival's trail and they're out, their land fading back to the floor. But while you're out, your trail is your weak spot: if anyone touches it, or you cross it yourself, the round is over.
Every arena has rival bots with their own personalities: greedy ones carve big loops that are easy to cut, cautious ones nibble close to home, and hunters chase down your trail. Rounds last three minutes; hold the most land when the clock runs out to win. Play a classic round any time, or the Daily Arena: the same map, pillars and rivals for everyone today, with a day streak. This is an early access build: bot tuning and scoring will be adjusted from real rounds.
Features
- Territory grab with smooth steering: drag anywhere, use the arrow keys or WASD, or aim with the mouse
- Rival bots with three personalities: greedy, cautious and hunter
- Claims sweep across the map with a rising tone; cutting a trail slows time for a beat
- Daily Arena with a date-seeded map, pillars and lineup, plus a day streak
- Colors and trail patterns to unlock, and a mission board that ranks you up
How it’s built
- Pure HTML5 Canvas and vanilla JavaScript: no engine, no build step.
- The arena is a grid of owner ids; a claim flood-fills from the edge of your land's bounding box, so it stays fast on phones.
- Bots are small state machines that plan a loop, watch for threats near their trail and head home, with no pathfinding.
- Every sound is synthesized in the browser at runtime, the same way as the other Labs games.
